LaWisdom will guide you through the steps to Australian citizenship.
STEP BY STEP
- Assess your eligibility

- original police certificates
- certified copies of passport
- international movement record
- proof of residence in Australia
- Print and submit your application for Australian Citizenship to the Department of Home Affairs
- Prepare for the test (we will provide you with the learning material)
- Sit for the test & interview

Interview
All applicants who are required to sit the test will have an interview first.
Most applicants aged between 18 and 59 at the time of application have to sit the test.
You might have an interview with DHA even if you do not have to sit the citizenship test.
Applicants aged 16 or 17 years and some applicants who are 60 and over, are also required to have an interview.
Processing times
This table shows how long it is currently taking to process citizenship applications.
A ‘decision’ includes applications that have been approved, refused, withdrawn and those that cannot be considered (invalid).
